I'm not a girly girl. Yes, I wear make-up and, when I have the opportunity, wear my hair down. Yes, I like nice jewellery. I don't do pink. I don't do fluffy. I don't do simpering female. I am the youngest of four children, the eldest two are boys. I'm a bit of a tom-boy.
Chick-flicks? Metal Mummy, really? Cool!
How contrary am I? I actually do like a good chick-flick, as long as they are the empowering women ones, the ones where the women aren't complete and utter simpering pathetic females throughout. I do like a good song and dance routine, but I've already talked about Strictly Ballroom and Moulin Rouge a few weeks ago. And I broke the rules in Week Two, so am limited to my choice here. Plus Dirty Dancing's already been 'done'.
I'm choosing my other favourite:
All the classic lines:
- In case I forget to tell you later, I had a really good time tonight. In case I forget to tell you later, I had a really good time tonight.
- I appreciate this whole seduction thing you've got going on here, but let me give you a tip: I'm a sure thing.
- Just how obscene an amount of cash are we talking about here? Profane or really offensive?
- Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now.
Which leads me onto my most favourite scene in the entire film:

I love this movie too. I love the bit where she goes for evening dinner and the whole soundtrack too! I love Sweet Home Alabama too. Two movies I could watch over and over!

Only seen Sweet Home Alabama once. Really fond of Just Like Heaven though.

Oh I love this film – that's why it got a little mention in my post. I was hoping someone would pick it. I also love the bit when he gives her that necklace (?) and then snaps the box shut at her fingers and she laughs – so cute!
TheBoyAndMe says
It might have been a little subliminal then! I wrote mine half an hour after reading yours.
I've always thought that was a little unscripted, or that she didn't know about it. Her laugh seems so genuine.

A classic. Definitely. I'm with you on the chick flicks which empower women. My fave is Working Girl with Melanie Griffiths. Apart from the spectacularly big hair at the beginning, the fact she dumps her cheating boyf and pulls off a major deal – as well as pulling Harrison Ford – is just my idea of a job well done.
But I'd settle for pulling Richard Gere as well!

Damn it, I love that movie! I can hear the theme tune in my head now. I adore the scene towards the end where she goes to collect her belongings from the office; I reckon that's an often copied, never successfully, scene. Thanks for commenting!
