About six months ago, I received a present from a Fairy HobFather which made me fall in love with Hotel Chocolat. Their chocolates are the most exquisite I have ever tasted and I've been lucky to enjoy some for my birthday, and in the Easter sale.
The other day, I arrived home to find a familiar brown box through the letterbox (I love that their boxes are designed to fit through) and I literally squealed with delight!
Aren't they beautiful? These are The Sleekster Classic Christmas Selection and are full of gorgeous, scrummy flavours like the two that I couldn't resist eating straight away. I quickly snaffled the Gingerbread Truffle (a velvety ganache with gingerbread flavours of cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg) and Rum Truffle (premium golden rum in a milk chocolate truffle). Don't worry, I ate each of them with several bites, which is quite restrained.
Hotel Chocolat chocolates are so divine that they just melt away slowly in a taste explosion. They are like mini-puddings in each chocolate and must be savoured.
I'm really excited about some of the other flavours in this box; I'm saving the Christmas Mess (fruity mousse made from white chocolate, strawberry and raspberry, finished with crushed meringue and raspberry), the Zesty Marzipan Star (two layers of marzipan and orange truffle with a dark shell, dusted with gold) and the Salted Soft Caramel (yes really, it's gorgeous) for closer to Christmas time. I'm saving the best 'til last.
And look how pretty they are!
