Days 61 - 67 of Project 365

61. From Where We Stand (We went to explore a new area of the coastline today, one I last went to around 23 years ago with my dad. However, this went to show that time is kind on memories because I don't remember it being such a pain to get down to, or it being quite so dirty with dog mess or general rubbish. We found an awesome ammonite fossil, but we won't be returning to that beach again.)

62. Contemplative (The Boy was shattered after school but I was blowed if we were staying in on such a nice afternoon! So off I dragged him to the clifftop park.)

63. Hello Gorgeous (I have always wanted a crotchetted blanket for The Boy, it's such a traditional item for a childhood and perfect for snuggling under when watching television or reading a book. Unlike all the other bloggers in the world at the moment, I have no idea how to make one. I do however follow an immensely talented lady called 'Hello Gorgeous' on Instagram who agreed to make one for The Boy. It arrived today and he was over the moon with it! )

64. Bookworm (Shattered after a long old day in work, I curled up on the sofa ready to collapse. The Boy picked up a book for his Tidy Books bookbox and came to sit with me. We looked through the pictures together but then he decided that he wanted to read the text by himself. So he did. Because he's four and is learning how to read. I'm so proud of him.)

65. Carefully Does It (We had a delayed Pancake Day due to Tuesday being a chockablock day which ended late. The Boy was determined to help me make his pancake so I tasked him with chopping the ham.)

66. Three Cousins and a Friend (The Boy went on a wonderful trip to the farm today and was physically drained after school. However, I plied him with milk and a sugary doughnut as he needed to go to a friend's birthday party in softplay from 4-6pm! Unfortunately, the poor girl came down with the nasty virus 'slapped cheek' and had to go to the doctor's during her own party so missed it. I'm hoping that The Boy doesn't contract it. On the way home, we called into his cousins' house where we all decided that 6.30pm wasn't too late to play outside. And the best bit was that it wasn't; it was still light!)

67. I'm Busy! (I love the eclectness of The Boy's ensemble here: hood up because it was windy, sunglasses on, one glove because we couldn't find the other, soaking trousers from jumping into his 'swimming pool'. Ahhh, the first trip to Barry Island of the season.)

Love the ammonite fossil – I am desperate to get to West Bay or Burton bradstock but am worried about cliff falls. The "I'm busy" pic is just fab…..prelude to the teenage years lol

Great photo of you all around the fossil. Something on our list of things to do this year is go somewhere to look for fossils. Love the gloves and sunglasses! πŸ™‚

Love the blanket, would be great to be talented enough to make one. Also love The Boy snuggled up on the sofa doing some solo reading πŸ™‚ x

maybe the beach is didtier and has more rubbish, people have changed over the years and feel it is acceptable. I dont ever remember dog mess everywhere when we were kids and people must of had dogs.
Double standards – the boy is shattered after schoolbut you (rightly) drag him out to have fun in the sun, you come home tired and snuggle under a blanket and have stories read to you.
    Love the beach look…different

pretty blanket and perfect for snuggles. (i cannot crochet or knit myself)
the first pic is great – all the pairs of wellies surrounding the fossil. Funny how memories can be so easily tarnished though
isnt it lovely how our boys are reading independantly and have such a zest for learning to read – makes me proud too x

Very impressed with that fossil, and I like how The Boy is poking his finger through that blanket! And well done to him on reading his book – it's wonderful to watch them learning like that πŸ™‚

Yep, that beachwear may be untraditional but he's totally rocking it. If it makes you feel any better, I am the only other person on the www who can't crochet. The new link tool is looking good at this point

I haven't the foggiest how to crochet either!

I love the beach shot – he looks so happy. I really wish we lived nearer to the coast sometimes, Arthur has only been to the seaside about three times in his life πŸ™

Just wonderful shots of your week with the boy. Even if the beach was a downer what an amazing fossil! The blanket looks so snuggly too. Nothing better than sitting quietly with one's young one reading a book.

His blanket is gorgeous. I can't crochet either but my sister can. It's amazing how colourful they can make them. Lots of lovely outdoor photos. Love the last one!

Love the last photo – I love how all kids seem to adore digging themselves a good hole! Classic beach activity! (Great outfit too πŸ˜‰ )

  13. says

Sorry the reality didn't live up to your memories! And that the little girl missed her own party – how sad for her!
Love the blanket and the slightly cobbled together garden fashion!

Isn't it awful that dog owners fail to pick up after their animals. At least we have other beaches to go to!

Love the shot of The Boy reading.

That's a great fossil find! Such a shame about the mess though. As a dog owner people leaving their dog's mess is a major bugbear of mine. I wish owners would just pick it up!
I love that last beach digging picture too, beaches are awesome!
That blanket is lovely too, I wish I was good at things like this! x
