One of the highlights of our Summers for the past two years has been going to the LolliBop children's festival in London. With the vast majority of the best quality children's television personalities appearing on one of the many stages, activities galore for every age and interest, and a wonderfully happy atmosphere, it is the pinnacle of our Summer days out.
LolliBop has announced a new home for the festival on 15th-17th August 2014; the majestic and fairy-like stately home Hatfield House.
Last year the organisers changed the venue from Regent's Park to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in the Olympic Village. In theory it should have been perfect, however various factors beyond their control saw it being less magical than intended. It was still an amazing day, but I know that it wasn't what LolliBop is known for. Taking that on board, Hatfield House is a vastly improved location of such a deserving festival.
Situated in Herfordshire, close to the A1 (or a 22 minute train journey from London Kings Cross) the stunning country house and gardens of Hatfield House offer an incredible array of spaces to house LolliBop's vast activity and entertainment programme. The ethos of LolliBop has always been about the fantastical with imaginative play zones and relaxation areas. In Regent's Park this was more achievable but the space was a bit cramped, in the Olympic Village it was difficult to achieve with a shopping centre looming in the distance.
However Hatfield House is a magical venue for the festival, with it's majestic buildings, magical woodlands, fairy-tale like gardens with a knot garden where Queen Elizabeth I used to play as a child.. Perfect for creating the festival air of entertainment and pleasure.
The 2014 lineup will be jam packed with big names for the main stage, alongside an unprecedented number of live theatre performances; plus sporting activities; creative workshops; nature talks and brand new areas and acts, never before seen at LolliBop.
With good motorways links, extensive on site parking and just a five minute walk from Hatfield train station, LolliBop 2014 is more accessible than ever before. LolliBop Early Bird tickets go on sale on March 28, priced £17.50pp. For more information visit the LolliBop 2014 site or Facebook page.

I attend last two years last year. in 2012 I had an awesome time! I didn't fancy the venue for 2013 and the event seemed more commercial. However perhaps they got feedback that attendees wanted more stalls to shop. This year I love the venue but as a commuter with two under 4's sadly I have to miss it. Chances are we will be tired before we get there… sigh..

Oh that's such a shame, I think this year will be the best yet! Thanks for commenting.
