… excitement!
As mentioned previously, we've spent the past few weeks redecorating our spare bedroom for The Boy to have as his big boy bedroom. It's been a trying time with timescales being tight and a certain husband not realising this, last Monday and Tuesday evening were quite horrific in particular, but we got there in the end.
The Boy's birthday was on a school day (last Thursday) and there were a few things which still weren't quite right in the morning so we planned for the big reveal to be after school. I rushed home from school at lunchtime to fix the soft furnishings into place and do last minute titivations like change his bedroom name plate over on the doors, and then as soon as I returned home from school, we were ready!
I couldn't have asked for a better reaction from The Boy, we all couldn't stop smiling for hours after, and when family arrived for the party tea then they were dragged up the stairs by him straightaway.
I am incredibly pleased with how the room looks, and think that the space them works really well for his big boy bedroom; it's a theme which will last him several years, and as the space decals are only stickers then it can easily be changed in the future. The globe is also something which I'm really pleased we can use, it was my grandfather's and is around thirty years old. The Boy loves trying to find the different constellations on it, particularly Orion's Belt.
It's definitely space-tastic!
