Days 229 – 235 of Project 365

Days 229 - 235 of Project 365

229. What?! (We went to Hendrewennol Fruit Farm today to have a go in their maize maze, partake of their own ice-cream and pick some raspberries. We didn't pick any fruit as we realised that none of us actually like raspberries, despite The Boy really trying hard to prove that he could in order to continue fruit-picking. However, we had a great time in the maize maze and enjoyed our ice-creams on the way around while finding the castles and stamps. I took better photographs, more pretty and idealistic, but I like this one. It's my boy not being the smiley one that everyone is used to, but the one who was disgusted that his ice-cream was gone and he was left with a soggy wafer cone to manage. He makes me laugh.)

230. Clamber (I met the lovely Welsh Mum of 3 Boys and her family at our favourite local National Trust place, Dyffryn Gardens, where the boys had a wonderful time climbing trees, rolling down banks, playing tag, and finding newts in the different garden rooms. On the way back home, we met up with my mum and The Boy's cousins at Barry Island for a fish and chip supper. Pretty much a perfect Summer holiday day!)

231. Practise (A quiet day at home involving play and some workbooks to keep his phonics and Maths skills up ready for a fortnight's time. Nothing fussy, just life.)

232. Longed For (Mum took me shopping for my belated birthday present and I confessed that what I really wanted was the Urban Decay: Naked eyeshadow palette. She was happy to spoil me with it and I may have squealed. Several times.)

233. Quiet Time (Another quiet day, we've been so busy that this week we've really needed to just relax and not rush around so much. Quiet playing in his bedroom in his pyjamas at 1pm. Because he's five and doesn't need to get dressed if he doesn't want to.)

234. Hotelier (While I was pegging the washing out, The Boy decided that he was desperate to make a mini-beast hotel. He found the old wheelbarrow at the bottom of the garden, set to filling it with soil and worms from the defunct vegetable patch, found several broken bits of wood, some old pebbles and rocks and was over the moon to write a sign on a slate from a broken birdfeeder.)

235. Bear Necessities (We went into the Cardiff branch of Build-a-Bear for a review visit. We've never been in there before, and he was over the moon to select a new teddy and chose a monkey as a companion for Oliver. He loved seeing it made and has carried it around all day. Unfortunately he then sobbed hysterically at bedtime, having a bad dream that Cuddles was trying to frighten him. Cuddles has been banished to the living room overnight.)

Hehe love the Ice cream pic, my z weirdly doesn't really eat the ice cream but loves the cone. I loooooove that palette. It's so nice. Although I wish I knew how to mix the colours better.

I watched a few YouTube tutorials and felt much more qualified to use such a professional bit of make-up kit.

The monkey seems to have behaved himself ever since, although he's downstairs so anything could be going on!

yes the ice-cream one is a great picture, made me laugh as well.
How nice to get for your birthday something you really wanted and will use, what a nice mum you have.
Love the imagination with the bug hotel, and why not stay in pj's if you dont need to get dressed.

Children can get away with doing a lot of things we can't, like staying in pyjamas and even playing outside in the garden in them! Lucky things.

He is starting to like the taste of blackberries, but I suspect like me that he won't like the texture. Apple and blackberry pie or crumble is horrible!

Looks like a great week. We are off this week so I hope to have one lazy day where we can play in our pj's, or should that just be George! I love his attention when writing the name tag. Just putting my post together now #Project365

Awe, some very funny expressions on the boys face this week! Love the 1st one. He's been concentrating lots this week. We've never been to Build A Bear…..must do that one day!

Build a bear is Miss C's favourite shop! It's good fun for them. It's a great idea to keep up with the school stuff over the holidays as it is such a long break for them. Lovely photos.

Love the treeclimbing picture. We had a lovely time at Build a Bear when we went some time ago. Can see that it might be a bit scary at night especially if you had the heart beat thing.

my two dont like the cornet either!
sounds like a lovely week of play and relaxation – the tree climbing is a great photo and a mini beast hotel is a wonderful idea x

It just gets soggy and tastes grim. We usually treat ourselves to a waffle cone but he doesn't manage that either so we just stick with a standard wafer cone for him.

    • TheBoyAndMe says

I was *&$%ing unimpressed that she'd not bought me anything, but I got my own back by buying something that I *really* wanted and couldn't afford.

ooo ronnie keeps mentioning build a bear, no idea how he has heard of them but is desperate to go. look forward to reading your review πŸ™‚

    • TheBoyAndMe says

I was never going to take him because I thought it was quite girly, but this review opportunity came so I thought, 'why not?'. He enjoyed it and for a *VERY* special treat or birthday present this it's a good idea.

Another week of fun in your household! I love the impromptu 'minibeast hotel'. What a brilliant imagination the boy has πŸ™‚
I've done my week of pics, but didn't think I could link up with a private blog?!

Lovely photos, especially the look of disgust after he'd eaten all the ice cream and the look of concentration whilst he's doing some work. What a naughty Monkey!!! Hope cuddles is being good now so he can be reinstated to the bedroom xx

    • TheBoyAndMe says

Cuddles still lives downstairs, he's not trusted upstairs yet. I think it might be because he's worried Oliver Monkey might get jealous.
