We are not a fair-weather family; adverse weather doesn't keep us indoors. If anything, sometimes we welcome the rain or winds to get out and blow the cobwebs away! The Boy has a vast array of waterproof trousers, jackets and all-in-ones which are perfect for the Winter, but a little too warm for Autumn. However, he was recently sent a colour-changing raincoat which has seen him positively fighting to get outside in the few rain showers that we've had.
The Holly & Beau range of colour-changing raincoats has got to be one of the most children's clothing style I've seen in a long while. Using some form of magical hocus-pocus, when the white rockets and spaceships are wet in the rain they change colour to shades of blue and yellow!
Now obviously that is the winning factor for The Boy; it's bright and funky anyway, but he's now desperate to dance in the rain in order to get drenched and see the colours change on his coat. The great thing is though that he doesn't end up saturated as this is a waterproof raincoat, and made of Pongee with a PU coating on the outer. It's also got light wadding in the lining all over, including the hood. As a mum who spends her Winters desperately trying to keep The Boy's ears protected from the wind, I'm really pleased that it is padded to help prevent the wind whistling through and is a snug fit around his head. I struggle finding hoods to fit The Boy as he has a large head, but this fits really well.
Priced at £49.99, this coat could appear to be possibly a little more expensive than the average Winter coat, but the cost balances out well when taking into account the fact it's waterproof and magical!
