Days 320 – 326 of Project 365

Days 320 - 326 of Project 365

320. Investigation (We were lucky enough to go on the Kingdom of the Elves Christmas experience at Bluestone today, where The Boy was transported through the elf workshop and shown what they do to make the presents for the children who write to Father Christmas. There were two dodgy moments, when he was first given his elf apron and then his elf ears, as he thought it meant he would be turned into an actual elf. The innocence and naivety of infants hey?)

321. Crashed Out (Absolutely exhausted today after such a busy weekend, I just hope he doesn't end up picking up a bug as a result.)

322. Pants (I ask him to go upstairs and get changed after school and five minutes later, this is what I find. I can't complain really, who would object to their child reading?!)

323. Cousins (We took the children out for tea together as my sister had her operation today).

324. Jolly Jars (The PTA have a really popular stall at the Christmas Fayre which involves a lucky dip of a decorated jar filled with treats. We raided our party bag and Hallowe'en leftovers and stuffed three jars full of quality goodies. I bet the jar that The Boy wins will be full of absolute rubbish!)

325. The Hint of a Smile (He's not feeling marvellous here, having had a headache for 36 hours since midnight on Wednesday/Thursday night, I think he might have a virus as he's terribly pale and complaining of a sore throat. I hate germs!)

326. Big and Small (These two are absolute monkeys together and The Boy adores his cousins so much. We went to visit my sister today and I sent the boys out into the garden to get some fresh air. The Boy is wearing his big cousin's old sweatshirt, and it was hanging off him. But then, look at the length of his legs in comparison!)

Not sure if it's the apron but he looks so tall in that first pic. How cool would it have been if they did turn him into an elf, bless him πŸ™‚ boo to viruses. Horrible time of year for bugs. Hope he's feeling much better soon x

He is getting tall, having to put him in 6-7 trousers now, but the apron has made him look like a long tube! He sobbed hysterically when he thought he was really going to be an elf!

I had a discussion with Bob the other day over this…..he was wearing a top that was far too small, and I said to him I think its about time he stopped wearing it as it was too small…..he said "but it is 3-4 and I fit into 3-4" bless him one day he may grow a bit

He's rocking that apron. Such a great natural shot. It's so nice to see the cousins together. My boy loves his cousins too. It's a special bond

Loving that apron pic, so sweet.
At least the Boy kept his pants on, Little miss normally ends up starkers after school!
Love the ciusins on a swing pic too. My monkeys also love their cousins, it's a special friendship that cousins share. x

They were conspiring! Better for them to be outside than stuck in the playroom with electronics, which the other adults were happy for them to do :-/

Such a fab elf apron – although very funny he thought he was about to become one and wasn't keen! The swings photo is very cool in a slightly disaffected youth kinda way! Hope he's feeling better x

Aw I can see how much he adores his cousin – such a special relationship. Sorry to hear The Boy has been feeling under the weather, so many nasty bugs going round at this time of year πŸ™ I love the elf apron, even if it didn't confuse The Boy somewhat!

    • TheBoyAndMe says

They really do get along so very well, although I still remember the look on their faces when they first saw him and he didn't do very much!

    • TheBoyAndMe says

I've got a photo of the whole outfit, once he realised he wasn't going to be an elf then he was happy to wear it.

I can completely understand the elf-fear! Yes, yes to the "hopefully yet" reply you made. Here's hoping. I dislike having to hurry my children up if it means they stop reading too!

my two adore thier cousins too and love it when they all get to play together.
how is your sister doing? Well i hope xx
Lovely photos i like the pants one hee hee and what a lovely elf apron. Burton wasnt himself last week – I hope the boy is much better now x

    • TheBoyAndMe says

I know your boys like pants so I'm not surprised you like that one! My sister's doing well, thanks, shattered but positive.

hope you were not in a hurry to go out, but yes it is nice to see them reading and enjoying the worlds this takes them into.
Love the cousin picture, and his face in the apron picture is great.
Does he manage to play guess who without help? Bob struggled with putting down the correct ones at the boys age and needed somebody on his team.

  9. says

Wow, that apron is huge, great idea though, although can see why it might be a bit traumatic for the children.

Love the swing photo. You always think how big they've got, and then see them against older cousins etc, and realise how far they've still got to go.
