A new year of Project 365, my fifth year of taking a photo every day in order to catch the ordinary and every day moments. When I look back over the past 1400+ days worth of photographs, I am instantly reminded of those small moments of tenderness and fun; such precious memories.
1. I Don't Care What The Weather Man Says… (Readers of this blog know full well that we're not at all bothered by the weather, and so why on Earth would 3.5°C stop us from building sandcastles on Barry Island beach on New Year's Day? It was a bit parky mind you.)
2. Silhouette (More beach play today when we met a friend and her daughter at lunchtime in the brilliant sunshine.)
3. Invaders (A quiet day playing today and a quick pop to the shops to pick up a new toy for The Boy that he'd been saving for; it did mean that Chase from Paw Patrol ended up trying to invade the wooden castle along with the robot from outer space. Because he's five.)

There is no such thing as bad weather just the wrong clothes!

I would have mine out more if they were mine, but you try and get them out and they say no and mummy backs that up, it annoys me but hey ho. Love the texture of he sand, and the sky is amazing.
Thta looks like a great fort.

where is the linky?
Sarah MumofThree World says
The silhouette is stunning! Love that he's building sandcastles on the beach on new year's day.
Erica Price says
The clouds on that first picture are so dramatic. When we get the chance we build sandcastles whatever the weather, afterall if you don't live near the sea, you have to do it when you can.
Helen C says
Love that first photo, I bet it was lovely & quiet on the beach in that weather!
Clare @ Emmys Mummy says
Loving sandcastles on the beach, I bet it was rather empty and quiet…. Perfect
Kriss MacDonald says
There's something rather magical about the beach on a cold winter day – and you've captured that. Especially love the first photo.
Susan says
Loving the beach shot. I wouldn't do it but then I'm Australian …
76 sunflowers says
Love the silhouette shot 🙂 I will make it to that beach in 2015 🙂
Ruth (geekmummy) says
Goodness me, you're hardier than I! But it looks like The Boy was having fun, so that's the important thing isn't it? 🙂 Looking forward to another year of 365 with you 🙂

Different toys in different places is a must in this house. Love the beach in winter, its never busy!!
Rachel says
The silhouette is just beautiful! If your toys can't play the wrong role when you are five years old, when can they?!
Mummy of Two says
Although we will go for a walk along the beach in the winter we haven't braved making sand castles! It certainly looks like a bit of a stormy sky! Happy New Year to you all!
Kara says
The beach looks beautiful, i need to get down there myself! The castle looks brilliant, will look into something similar for Eliza for her birthday
Coombemill says

The beach in the winter is so beautiful! We couldn't live any further from a beach if we tried (Birmingham!) so very jealous! Love his castle as well, my boys would love that.
Mary @ Over 40 and a Mum to One says
The last photo made me chuckle. We regularly have dinosaurs attacking our castle. Happy New Year x

I really wish we lived close enough to a beach, my 4 would love the solitude of an empty beach. Love image 2, fab picture 🙂
Shell Louise says
Love the second photo. It must be great to live close to the beach 🙂

A bit parky? A BIT? You, Mrs, are my inspiration for getting my arse out of the house, you can expect to see a lot of outside photos this year….. promise!
Kate @ Family Fever says
Love the beach photo, we love to go to to the sea in the winter too. What a lovely wooden castle, I can imagine The Boy will have hours of fun with that!

Lovely pictures, we love going out whatever the weather, in fact slightly miffed that we haven't had a chance to wear our waterproof trousers yet! I love the 3rd pic too, children's imaginations are fab aren't they?! We had Iron Man flying over the Lego Friends Shopping Mall on Boxing Day, checking that everyone was okay before meeting Captain America in the Lego Friends cafe for a snack! x
CaroleHeidi says
Your photos make me wish we lived closer to the sea.
Arthur has a similar castle but he's not quite old enough to really play with it properly – I can't wait for him to rediscover it when he is a bit bigger, your photos of The Boy are so lovely 🙂

Lovely Pics, I think the Beach is always fun whatever the weather and I love how your little man is so wrapped up in his own little world whilst playing with his toys, My Little man is the same but unfortunately putting them away is not his strong point and my bare feet always seem to find them! 🙂
Jen @mymummyspennies says
Love the beach shots, I really miss living so close to a beach. At five any toy can invade a castle and rightly so!

The silhouette looks rather creepy, like a giant! Love photo's of The Boy… I know I always say it but he reminds me of my twins – they have a similar castle actually, is it from Early Learning Centre? Happy New Year xx
brinabird and son says
It's cute when they mix toys and you see their imaginations working… everything goes! Awesome silhouette. My wee man is desperate to get to the beach but we are not able to justify a 2 hour drive just yet.
Claire McLean says
Must be lovely being near to a nice beach. Lots of fun in all weather.
What do you do with all your photos at the end of the year? I have loved taking my photos this year but im not sure whether I should make a wee photo book or something now. X

Another stunning beach shot – I can feel the sand!
FromMummytoMum says
That silhouette shot is amazing, that is what of my goals to try and attempt!
Rachael Buzzel says
Quite right about the weather. If I had such a wonderful beach at my disposal I reckon we'd be there come rain or shine too.
The silhouette shot is stunning, and I love the shot with The Boy playing, such wonderful imaginations at this age.
On a side note, congrats on being on your 5th year – that's impressive! x
suzanne3childrenandit says
Love The Boy all wrapped up on the beach – perfect! My son has a wooden castle like that and still refuses, at 10 years old, to allow me to remove it from his room. Hours of fun 🙂
Emma Wright says
Great pics. Love beach play whatever the weather!!! That castle looks fab xx
Sara (@mumturnedmom) says
The silhouette photo is fabulous, but I just adore that first photo. Cold weather doesn't bother us either, although I suspect that the -19C forecast for overnight this week might just keep us inside with a high of -8C the following day… 🙂 Lovely to be back for another year of 365 xx
Hayley says
Looks like a fabulous day at the beach on New Year's Day… What a great idea!! I'm a bit jealous lol

Beautiful photo's as ever my love. We managed a trip to the beach on the 29th, I do wish we had one closer so that we could visit more often. That castle looks like an excellent toy for imaginative play. My Lil G would love it. Apologies for the delay, it has been a long week of work. KA
