It seems ever since June started, it has rained the vast majority of the time. I'm sure that's not true as I've walked the children down to the leisure centre for swimming every working day, and only one of those was soggy. However, the weekends definitely seem to have been moisture enhanced!
Fortunately I didn't mind it raining today. 36 hours ago I was despairing at the concept, but then my son came down with a sickness bug and I had to cancel his outdoor birthday party in the nearby nature reserve. Mid afternoon today I needed some fresh air and took a walk around the garden, which is beginning to look rather lush and Eden like due to the wildly contrasting weather conditions we've had lately. It was a great opportunity to practise macro photography on the plethora of raindrops adorning the vibrant leaves and swollen fruit.

That looks like an amazing shot and really sums up what our summer is looking like this year.

Beautiful shots. I do love macro stuff, and rain drops are so stunning. Do you use a macro lens or extension tubes?
TheBoyAndMe says
This was a Tamron 90mm f2.8 fixed focus lens. It's an absolutel blighter as it's mega sensitive to the focal point so easier to use with a tripod. I had taken about 250 photos and have kept about 10!

Wow, amazing photos. I think taking photos of raindrops must be the only plus side to all the wet weather π #MySundayPhoto

Stunning photos, but I really do wish the weather would improve!
Hope The Boy is feeling better now, how disappointing to have to cancel his party.

Wonderful photos, that Tamron lens is fab, now I want a fixed lens, and a lot of time and patience!

Fantastic shots – particularly love the angle you've taken first main leaf photo x

Thanks, it was one of about eleventy billion as the lens' focus is so sensitive that quite a few come out just that tiny bit too blurred.
OneDad3Girls says
Beautiful photos, that Tamron lens is a corker I used to have one on a Nikon a few years back. It takes a bit of getting used to, I found using a tripod helps no end.
Raindrops really do add character on leaves and flowers when taking macro photos
Thank you for linking up
TheBoyAndMe says
I wish I'd taken my tripod out with me because it's so sensitive to movement isn't it? I thought you'd appreciate the flowers π

Thank you, I had hoped for a sunny Summer but as long as it behaves itself when the holidays come I can cope.

It's as if the beauty of raindrops on flowers and leaves is Nature's way of apologising for all the rain! Off to pin the leaf picture to my "Green" board π

I thought they made the tomatoes look really fresh and tasty. I love popping (a ripe) one in my mouth while on the patio!
