For several years now, my son's favourite programme has been Paw Patrol; a television series which follows the adventures of the inhabitants of Adventure Bay and their frequent rescuers – eight pups and their ten year old leader, Ryder.
I've often wondered about the sense of having a town's emergency services completely staffed by a team of dogs, and my husband frequently worries that Ryder's parents seem to be absentee. But then when the mayor has a pet chicken (called Chickaletta) who lives in her handbag, I think this is one of those shows that shouldn't be analysed too much.
However, our favourite pup is the very loveable dalmation Marshall who is in charge of the fire and rescue division of Paw Patrol. We were recently sent a 'Zoomer' version of Marshall to review, a type of toy that we haven't come across before.
Zoomer toys are really quite clever in that they move, 'talk' and can be interacted with; they really do 'zoom' around the house quite nippily. Marshall's feet are motorised enabling him to move around and perform tricks and stunts. Additionally his body is jointed which helps him change direction whilst moving, and he can also reverse. This Zoomer is for children aged 3+ and with over 150 sounds and phrases, and a variety of tricks, it's a really enchanting toy for all Paw Patrol fans.
On Marshall's back is his 'pup pack' with two water cannons which can be ejected to help extinguish the flames of the latest disaster, and these missions are accessible via the badge on his chest. When the badge is pressed, one of over 80 interactive missions is announced and the child is invited to help Marshall rescue the kittens, put out the fires or help find Chickaletta. It's really quite entertaining, even for my seven and a half year old son, and would be a good investment for any Paw Patrol fan.
Paw Patrol Zoomer Marshall has a RRP of £69.99 and is available from all online and high street stores.
