Family Breaks in The Royal Garden Hotel, London (Review)
The Boy adores going to London, he thinks it's a really special place to visit because of the variety of things we get to do. We usually visit in the Summer and spend time wandering through the parks and enjoying the great outdoors. I had been eager for quite some time to visit London at Christmas time so we could see the lights and the wonderful shop displays.
A few weeks before Christmas, this was made possible when we were invited to stay at The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington for the weekend. I have to say it is quite possibly one of the most luxurious, and child-friendly, hotels I've stayed in with one of the most amazing views over London.

Sunday 21st December 2014
Today was our annual trip to a local National Trust place, Tredegar House, to see the big man himself; Father Christmas. The Boy queued up excitedly and was slightly overwhelmed when he went into the room to meet Santa, but they had a good chat about tidy bedrooms (although he fills his stocking in the living room) and Hot Wheels tracks.

Kingdom of The Elves at Bluestone, Wales
Family time over Christmas is so important, and with time being such a precious commodity in modern life it can be hard to fit in the special events and occasions which make memories.
We were recently invited to spend a weekend at Bluestone National Park Resort in west Wales in order to enjoy their Christmas extravaganza of the Kingdom of the Elves, and it was without a doubt the perfect thing to start off our celebrations over the festive season.
Christmas Story Books (Review)
One the first day of December I change over every one of The Boy's reading books in his downstairs bookshelf for a Christmas book; over the years we've amassed a fair few! New books are wrapped up and tokens to receive them are placed in his home-made advent calendar, he manages to have a new Christmas book once or twice a week leading up to Christmas Day. This year is no exception and some of those new books are listed below.
"The Spirit of Christmas" by Nicky Benson (Book Review)
Christmas storybooks are a magical thing that help build the excitement of the season, exploring the world of Father Christmas and the elves in a way that children can't really witness. That magical moment when Father Christmas descends down chimneys all over the world, spreading love and happiness, is one that books and films can help to recreate, but it's not something that children can experience in reality.
I'm always keen to fill the house with quality storybooks at Christmas, books that help to build the warm glow inside. And just as 'The Polar Express' is the perfect film for this, I've now found the perfect book.
