Last month, Nick Jr started airing a new series which is quite a departure from the norm. Dinosaur Train is set in a prehistoric world of jungles, swamps, active volcanoes and oceans and full of wonderful characters designed to teach children about the living sciences.

Aimed at pre-schoolers, Dinosaur Train will help children discover new types of dinosaur species and compare and contrast dinosaurs to today's creatures. The main character is Buddy, a curious, funny, and intelligent T-Rex. When not playing with his siblings, Buddy is searching for the answers to his questions on the train.

Dinosaur Train is produced by The Jim Henson Company so it's bound to be a good'un! The half hour shows feature two episodes ideal for the attention span of a pre-schooler.

Dinosaur Train returns on Monday 9th April at 4pm on Nick Jr (Sky 615, Virgin 715, TalkTalk 318)
